Keep our oceans Pristine

Image
This is just a photo of Gary and Fred fooling around with our new nesting dinghy.  But also an indication of our pristine environment and why we use totally environmentally safe products to help keep it that way. Not only are we saving tons of money on all our cleaning products,( I know I sound like a commercial, ) but we are not putting all the bad stuff into our oceans and on our land.  I can never remember all the alphabet soup that is in the cleaners today, it just boggles the mind, but did you know that 3 drops of Basic H will make 16 oz of window cleaners.  Cuts the grease, does what window cleaner is supposed to do, and costs almost nothing.  Now how much better can a cleaner be. The Painting Conundrum

Image
Have you ever had a discussion in your marriage hang on for years and years, or is it only me.  This painting and sanding thing has always been one of those things.  49 years ago or so, I was painting the kitchen cupboards in a farm house we had bought, and of course had taken them off, removed all the hardware and sanded them --to my specks.---  Well Gary came home, and not good enough, he said.  So I sanded them again, and again, and finally just left the cupboards with no doors.  About a month later his mother came over one week, remember I was a fairly new bride, and really wasn't going to put up doors that my DH (dear husband) didn't approve of, anyway his mom came over and being of the old school thought my cupboards without doors was ridiculous.  So she said, just put some paint on them and be done with it.  Which we did.  They looked just fine, no one complained and if they did I could always say that I was following his moms ...

FlyOver Canada Official Teaser 2013

Image
This past weekend Paulette and Art and Gary and Myself went to "Fly Over China" and  "Fly Over Canada".  What an amazing show, if you could call it that.  It is a mid-way ride, a plane ride and a 3 D movie all wrapped up in one.  Absolutely fantastic cinematography, a concept that  blew me away, we were sitting out over a 60 foot abyss flying through the air.  Basically, hang on and enjoy the ride.  After the first 3 minutes I wanted out!  I don't do roller coasters and only have a working relationship with planes, which means that unless necessary I will drive.  But there was no out, my seat belt was strapped in, and I don't do 60 foot leaps into space,  so "suck it up and buckle down and enjoy".  Krista, Joshes girl friend said to look for the top of the screen when you feel nervous.  I couldn't find it!  Of course if I had opened my eyes maybe it would have been there, but the whole 60 foot screen just wrapped around me...

100 things to do on a boat.

Image
Found this on "women who sail" and thought it was really great. Figure I should save this in case I ever get bored. 100 Things to Do on a Boat Posted on   January 15, 2015   by   Jeffrey Margaret and I are always amazed by how many people post on CruisersForum, Liveaboard Cruisers, and other online venues asking how people keep from getting bored while at anchor or on a long passage. When aboard, we are always hunting for more time, not more things to fill our time with. So, we decided to put together a list of one hundred things to do while on a boat. For the most part, we avoided anything that involved the internet or leaving the vessel, attempting to stay true to the original queries that spawned this list. At first, we thought a list of a hundred things might be a little ambitious, but we brainstormed it quickly enough that we are sure you could add another hundred easily. You're Invited!

Hi, one of my favourite programs is the Shaklee 180.  I must admit that I haven't been all that faithful for the whole year  Last summer and fall I lost 40 pounds, using the program very faithfully, documenting everything in the 180 program on my I-pad, etc. and then we went back to Canada and I got into junk food again.  Still used my Smoothie most days for breakfast and went thru loads of snack bars, but also lots of hamburgers and fries.  Oops,  came back 12 pounds heavier, not enough exercise, in fact no exercise to speak of.  So here I am again, have to loose those 12 plus probably 50 more, but am motivated again. So am looking for some friends to join me and get motivated as well.  The program works marvellously, as the video will tell you, and you really do feel great; and you can have a hamburger or two along the way. pms.yourfreedomproject.com/seven-big-secrets-to-weight-loss
